Alison Baker will shine a spotlight on academic book publishing, and in particular research works, to demystify what happens when you hit ‘send’ when you submit your proposal to a publisher. She will give you a full overview of the publishing process at Bloomsbury and will be happy to answer your questions.
Alison Baker is currently Senior Publisher (Education and Linguistics) on the Bloomsbury Academic imprint at Bloomsbury Publishing. A highly experienced commissioning editor, she has experience working across education titles for classroom practitioner, trainee teacher and academic audiences. Her commissioning areas of focus are around classroom practice, teacher education, higher education and leadership and management in education but she also looks at cross-disciplinary and intersectional topics. She currently manages a team of six, developing the Bloomsbury Academic offerings in education, linguistics and research methods across digital and print formats written for a broad range of audiences, including academics, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and trainee teachers.
